We Want YOU to Make a Short Film for Our Earth Day Film Shorts!

Making Earth Cool and NW Documentary are excited to invite you to create a short film for our Earth Day Film Shorts happening at the Tomorrow Theater on April 24th, 2025. And there’s more! The favorite film will win a prize of $1,000!

*The deadline to submit is April 4th. Submissions are not guaranteed inclusion in our screening, but we hope that you will submit all the same.

Submission Requirements:

Your film should be between 10 seconds to 5 minutes long. You may already have a film lying around, or footage that just needs to be edited, earthworms living in your yard that just need to be filmed, or a website with many copyright-free films (https://archive.org/) that could be edited into a whole new story. Also, remember, that films can be made with stills and music or narration. There are so many options to go with.

Suggested platforms for submission: dropbox, wetransfer, google drive.

Accepted file types:

• HD1080 resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) at any standard frame rate

• Dolby 7.1/5.1 audio (normal stereo is fine too)

• H.264 (MPEG4) encoding
